Burgess. A small town of folk who, once upon a time, saved the world from eroding darkness. Oh yes, this town had a history- one which laid deeper than the needle that threaded it. And all for who? That careless, dauntless fiend- oh they knew him well. Becoming a Guardian was much more than just being recognized, it was being believed in. A new sound hope for he and his companions. A new hope for the children.

But even the title couldn't erase that of the Guardian's childish side. In fact, not only was he the top of Nicholas's list at an all-time high, but he was also mischief's favored experiment.

"Well, well. What seems to be the rouse this time..." the man purred, lifting a narrow finger into the air as he caught onto one of the many snow flakes shredding from the sky. He knew this presence like the back of his hand. The chilled atmosphere of laughter and taunts. Even that of the truly blind could tell where the Guardian of Fun flaunted his trail. He was near- and in Ahlix's delight, he was stirring the kettle of which kept his being sane.

"Come now, Jack Frost... I feel that with your presence, I never seem to leave the Pennsylvanian border before turning a heel for more... If only the generation was more like you," he snickered, a teasing smile curling at his lips as he looked around. Oh yes... he was near.

Jack Frost wasn't exactly the hardest Guardian to find. North, always up on the North Pole, Bunnymund always hiding in his tunnels until Easter came about, and Toothiana... Well she was never out having her little tooth fairies running around instead. Needless to say, Jack was the Guardian who was always out and about ready to meet new kids, and to have some insane fun!

A strong breeze came through Burgess upon his arrival, it always did and wherever he wandered it came with him. He flew through the dark night sky, and dived down onto a rooftop. Looking around, grinning to himself in excitement. He always came home, to cause some trouble, but this time he felt a new spirit in the area. One familiar, but not one he had ever had the pleasure of meeting.

"Someone is here for a visit." Jack spoke to himself, throwing his staff forward, and using it similar to that of a skateboard below his feet as he created ice and slid over it, left and right he was ecstatic to meet this spirit. "Wind and all come to me!" And with a reckless flip, and landing the wind lifted him into the air once more and he flew, to see the red-headed individual standing there. That was him! An unusual frolicking spirit.

"Hey-oh!" The boy greeted, coming to a very graceful stop, dropping down to the ground, and kicking his staff up into his hands, and putting it leisurely onto his shoulder.

The vibrant whispers of wind caressed the blindfolded senses, the quicken motion of Jack's arrival causing his grin to tweak further. Other than their staffs, the Guardian and Spirit also seem to have shared a pleasure of disregarding footwear.

Ice to heated stone, and grass to rocky shores, the texture isn't what mattered to Ahlix, but the vibrations that came with it.

"Hey-oh!" the cheerful voice called, Ahlix turning his head toward the Guardian. Pleased, he held his own rosewood mended staff low, turning his neck only slightly in an angle to greet the fellow.

"Here you are... It is an honor to finally meet someone of likely nature, Jack Frost," the redhead smiled, nose wrinkling the bandages wrapped around his eyes. "I am... a fan of your works."

Footwear was a nuisance, and something that Jack had lost when he had been turned into a spirit upon the fateful night, the one he found out that he could not be seen by anyone around him, it had been terribly unfortunate, but that was no longer a worry, Jack could be seen very easily. By some anyway!

It wasn't the vibration, it was when he had been turned that had ultimately sealed his "fate" on whether he'd be able to wear shoes or not. So, with that said, shoes were a no go.

Jack tilted his head, staring at the others blindfold it was weird not being able to see eyes, seeing as Jack usually made eye contact with anyone he was talking to. He squinted his eyes for a moment, sizing up the other spirit. Well, he wasn't evil that much was clear.

"Yeah! Nice to meet ya," Jack grinned, nodded and then threw his staff over his shoulders and hung his arms on it comfortably. "I'm a fan of my works too." The reckless youth boasted.

"Hmhmhm..." Ahlix chuckled, the paranoia crawling against his peachy-pastel skin of the boys' gaze. A familiar feeling to any new contact.

"You have quite the confidence. I can see how the rumors stand true that you indeed saved us from another dark age," he stated promptly with a wave of the wrist. "And yet but a child, much learning to do with that responsibility, is it not?"

They weren't necessarily riddles, but not quite English either. Ahlix had a thing for talking in tongue, one that only he could really define. A mischievous trait that seem to be more of a nuisance than anything. He, however, found it as a game of patience. Those who were willing to work around his words were more likely not to get on his bad side. Those who complained, and even so far as to rant, would more than likely receive a parting gift upon the Spirit.

"Allow me," the thin man smiled, crossing the baring staff at his chest as the other arm outstretched in the opposing direction, forming that of a male curtsey, "Ah-lix Hexbringer. But you may simply call me Ahlix," he introduced, putting a fair bit of emphasis on his first name.

Jack couldn't help it, he was young and curious and it never crossed his mind that he might have been offending or making the other male uneasy with his staring.

"Responsibility? Well I suppose.." Jack shrugged, he really was not sure if responsibility was something he was the biggest friends with, and he also did not feel as if he had all that much responsibility. Sure, he was a Guardian now, and it was a lot of work being a Guardian, what with all the kids relying on him to keep the darkness away. But responsibility? He didn't like thinking about it.

Jack lacked any kind of patience as one might have guessed, and so the other's little "riddles" did not sit well with the young man, who only raised an eyebrow in Ahlix's general direction, he didn't know where to look, there were no eyes to look at. Very bothersome if you asked Jack.

"Ahlix. Cool, cool.." The male proceeded to rest his arms over his staff which was now on his shoulders. "So what do you do?.." He hummed. "Uhh.. What's your center?" That probably made no sense, it had made no sense to Jack the first time North had decided to bring that up.

A cheeky grin escaped that of the canine-sharpened mouth as Ahlix shifted upon his staff, leaning his balance as he rested his arms across the top, "My center? Hmm... a very good question, Guardian."

Shifting his weight as he acted to ponder, the man was already aware of what he stood for- what made him the man he was today. But how does one explain to another? Well, that was the tricky part.

"I am the beholder of coincidental consequence... a misfit by choice, you could say," he noted aloud. "I bare that of a neutral party... making sure that in its' own twisted way, karma stays balanced."

Probably not the best definition in the world. In fact, Ahlix wouldn't be surprised at all if it left the boy clueless. He'd just personally enjoy it more. But to define mischievousness... that was a tiring task. Where would you even begin? The good, the bad, the sweet, the sour? It had many branches of evidence; all that had no defined presence themselves. Though... wasn't that what made it mischievous in the first place?
